Glasshouses Mill is a Grade 2 Listed former hemp and flax mill building, dating from c1812-14 with later additions throughout the 19th and 20th Centuries. The mill was converted to provide 19 town houses and 9 apartments around a central courtyard.

The development slopes down to the River Nidd and a goit, connecting to the River Nidd, passes beneath the mill buildings. Water passing through the goit providing waterpower to the now redundant water wheels and turbines.

Solution:Positive was appointed under Performance Duties to develop a services strategy for the apartments and upgrade the incoming infrastructure, including a new substation and the below ground diversion of overhead electricity and telephone lines, to meet the requirements of the Clients brief.
